Description

The Mysterious Island. B2 - Jules Verne The Mysterious Island is an exciting adventure novel by Jules Verne. It tells the story of five men who escape from a war prison during the American Civil War by stealing a hot-air balloon. A storm carries them far away, and they land on a mysterious, uninhabited island in the Pacific Ocean. The group includes an engineer named Cyrus Smith, who becomes the leader. With his knowledge and the help of his companions—Pencroft the sailor, Harbert the young boy, Gideon Spilett the reporter, and Neb the loyal servant—they work together to survive. They build shelter, grow food, and create tools using the island’s natural resources. Strange things begin to happen: they are saved from danger by an unknown force, and mysterious objects appear just when they need them. Later, they discover that Captain Nemo, the famous character from Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, is secretly living on the island in his submarine, the Nautilus. He has been helping them. In the end, a volcanic eruption destroys the island, but the group is rescued. Captain Nemo dies, and the survivors return home with a new appreciation for science, teamwork, and courage.
